Welcome to Milledgeville.    One can be as busy or as quiet as one wants in Milledgeville.  Situated in northwest Illinois in Carroll County, Milledgeville is 20 minutes  north of Sterling-Rock Falls, 30 miles south of Freeport, 30 minutes east of the Mississippi River, and an hour southwest from Rockford or an hour northeast of the Quad Cities.

If you want to be involved in the community, we offer many opportunities.  Activities for adults and youth abound.   We have a Milledgeville Men's Club and Women's Club, monthly "Grace Meals" for seniors, several active book clubs, 4-H, Boy and Girl Scouts, summer baseball and softball.  Each August the Carroll County Fair is held just outside of the village at Schell Park.  If you are looking for good books to read or are interested in family history, visit our library.  We have an active history group ready to help. They have even been known to go to our surrounding cemeteries to help callers from as far away as California!  If you want your children educated in an excellent school district, Chadwick-Milledgeville District 399 won't disappoint you.  Milledgeville is home to the high school as well as grades K-4.  Grades 5-8 attend school in the nearby town of Chadwick.  Check out our businesses.  You will find we can fulfill many of your needs right here without traveling out of town.  Restaurants, a medical clinic, gas stations,  a hardware and building supply store, beauty parlors, and a bridal shop are among our many businesses.
